First Impressions:

This cigar has a very nice Indonesian wrapper and is made in the Dominican Republic. The wrapper seems to be in very good shape and is showing some pretty strong veins. I’m expecting this to be a medium bodied cigar. The prelight has an aroma of light earthiness with some leather and pepper hints. Let’s light up!

First Third:

The first few puffs seem to have a strong citrusy typer flavor that honestly I’m not too fond of. However, after the first minute or so it mellows out and I taste that very smooth and classic Romeo Y Julieta flavor. I taste a lot of creamy and earthiness, with some hints of black pepper or cedar in the background. It’s burning very nicely as well.

Second Third:

About 25mins into my smoke I reach the second third. I still have a little bit of the creamy flavor, but at this point I mainly taste a pretty strong leather and coffee taste which is my favorite. The pepper notes I tasted early now seem to take a back seat. The burn line needed a few touch ups so far, but nothing too drastic. The cigar is producing a decent amount of smoke which I always love.

Final Third:

As with most cigars, in the final third I now mainly taste a straight tobacco flavor. The creamy flavor I tasted in the beginning is long gone along with the pepper notes. It’s mainly now a straight tobacco flavor with slight hints of leather. The burn line has corrected itself once I got past the halfway mark.

Final Impressions:

My total smoke time was about 1 hour and 15 minutes. This is a nice cigar for any time of the day. Overall, I would rate this cigar a 7 out of 10. The quality of the cigar itself is usually good and this one was no different. Although this is not one of my personal favorite cigars, I do enjoy it from time to time. I would recommend it to any cigar smoker.
